Your first hour in the ice kingdom is designed to get your feet wet. You have to keep the overall machine running smoothly by attending to needs all over the place. In many respects, World of Keflings shares DNA with plate-spinning casual games like Diner Dash. Not only does this help drive the story forward, but it also links up the three kingdoms. You achieve these artifacts and gadgets by listening to the kings, queens, and important Keflings in each kingdom.

Oh, and then there's all of the special stuff, like magical books and burning hearts needed to complete some of the more complex (and thus, necessary for the narrative) buildings, such as universities, labs, and mansions. It's not difficult to move resources from one building to another, but an effective manager is good at anticipating needs and redirecting Keflings to eliminate the busy work of shuffling around previously distributed resources to tackle new goals. You have to keep tabs on those hats and watch where resources are going. Keeping track of the Kefling machine in each kingdom is not easy, but delegation never is. Glass can then be dropped off at a factory to make the necessary building pieces called out in one of your many blueprints. But many resources must be refined in intermediary facilities, such as a glass factory that turns sand into, well, glass. Play If empire-building in World of Keflings was this easy, you could wrap up all three kingdoms in an hour and call it a day.

Though the resources and buildings may change, the system of assigning tasks remains the same. (Apparently, this is a world where the corporate-speak "wearing different hats" is a literal thing.) It is a very easy-to-use system that makes sense within seconds. As soon as you've done this, the Kefling follows orders until you give him another task by picking him up and removing his hat. He then grabs an armful of whatever and waits for you to pick him back up and drop him off at his destination. Once the Kefling starts generating that resource, you then pick up another Kefling and drop it on top of the goods. Organizing your staff is as easy as picking up a Kefling and setting him down in front of a palm tree, sheep, or ice patch. As you unlock blueprints for structures like houses and factories, you must direct the Keflings to harvest resources, refine them (if necessary), and then cart them to the necessary facilities to get the current job done. You need to help the Keflings build up their respective worlds by delegating tasks.

Like Kingdom for Keflings before it, A World of Keflings imports your Xbox Live Avatar so that you are actually the decider in these itty-bitty nations.
